Khokon elected JCD president, Shamol secretary

Fazlur Rahman Khokon and Md Iqbal Hossain Shamol have been elected president and general secretary respectively of Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD), the student wing of BNP.

Khokon bagged 186 votes while his nearest candidate Kazi Rawnaqul Islam Shrabon got 178 votes. Shamol received 139 votes while his closet candidate Jakirul Islam Jakir got 74 votes.

As per direction of Tareq Rahman, balloting began at the house of Mirza Abbas around 8:45pm on Wednesday and continued until 12:00am.

Khokon hails from Bogura and Shamol from Narsingdi.

Out of 533 councillors of Chhatra Dal across the country, 481 cast their ballots.
