Kiwis set 196-run target for Tigers

Sport Desk: Hosts New Zealand have set a target of 196 runs for 7 for Bangladesh in the second of a three-match T20 international series at the Bay Oval in Mount Maunganui on Friday.

Winning the toss, Bangladesh skipper Mashrafe Bin Mortaza chose to bowl first, and he himself struck in the very first over to remove Luke Ronchi.

Rubel Hossain was the highest wicket-taker for his side, with 3-37 in four overs. Mustafizur Rahman was the most economical, and he gave away 30 runs in four overs. Mosaddek Hossain and Shakib Al Hasan got wickets in their opening overs.

Mahmudullah Riyad conceded 32 in two overs, Mosaddek Hossain 22 in two while Shakib was carted for 32 runs in four overs.

For New Zealand, Colin Munro hit 101 off just 54 balls.

Last match's hero Kiwi captain Kane Williamson (12) and Corey Anderson (4) also fell inexpensively, but Munro and Bruce then made a 123-run partnership to put the hosts in control.

The sizzling Munro smashed seven fours and the same number of sixes while Bruce's 39-ball 59 were studded with five fours and a six.

The match started at 8.00am (Bangladesh time) at Mount Maunganui and is being broadcast live on BTV (Bangladesh Television) and Channel 9.
