Last moment Eid shopping at peak

Staff Correspondent: Eid is knocking at the door. With only two days left before the holy Eid-ul-Fitr, people of the country are passing busy hours in their last moment Eid shopping.

Muslim communities celebrate the day in a special manner. After one month of fasting, people become busy buying new cloths for the biggest festival.

Centering Eid, people pass their time in shopping. All modern and traditional shopping malls even at footpaths have been crowded by all classes' customers to buy new dresses and other necessary lifestyle items for their near and dear ones. As a result, the shopkeepers are also passing a serious busy time.

The stalls at city footpaths including Gulisthan, Paltan, Sadar Ghat, Motijheel, Farmgate, Baitul Mukarram areas were seen jam-packed with Eid shoppers.

The sellers said that the best selling items are -shirts, pants, panjabis and children dresses.

Although the footpath shop owners said that the selling has increased but the seasonal rain is hampering their business.
