Lowest temperature recorded 2.6°C in Panchagarh

Desk Report: A cold wave is sweeping over different parts of the country with the lowest temperature 2.6°C recorded in Tetulia of Panchagarh district on Monday morning.

Meteorologist Mizanur Rahman said recently there was no such record in Bangladesh. A previous low was 2.8 degrees Celsius in Srimangal back in 1968. 

Besides, in Saidpur and Dimla of Nilphamari, the temperature dipped to 2.9 degree and 3 degree Celsius respectively.

Met office sources said a cold wave is sweeping across the country. It forecasts moderate to thick fog in parts of the country during the day. However, the situation may improve within next one to two days.

On the other hand, the people from northern part of the country have been suffering much from different cold-related diseases.
