Staff Correspondent: Gaza Strip now literally turned into a valley of death. Bloodshed runs all over the valley. Israel has engaged into mass killings in besieged Gaza Strip ignoring the values of human rights.

More than three hundred Palestinians including women and children have been killed in Israeli attacks starting from July 8. Over one and a half thousand people were also injured in the Israeli strikes. Most of the victims are civilians.

People all over the world raised their voices in protest of the brutal killings. Protesting the attack on women and children in Gaza, some form human chain, some stage demonstration, some hold their pens to write against the illegal settlements of Israel and their use of violence against civilians.

Civil society of Bangladesh keeps protesting against the brutality of Israel. Lyricist Mahbubul A Khalid is not an exception. The humanist lyric poet penned a song titled ‘Save the Palestine’ to express his support and condolence to Palestinians and protest against the atrocities of Israel.

Lyric poems are a well means of expressing protest. Folk Songs are considered as effective tools to raise voices against all kinds of injustice and atrocities. Mahbubul A Khalid has preferred to use the tool to express his message in protest of Israeli attack on Palestinians through his lyrics.

In the chorus of the song, lyricist calls on the world to save Palestinian women and children. “Palestine, Palestine, Palestine; We love Palestine; Save the children, Save the women; Save the Palestine,” he wrote.

Urging the world conscience the lyricist also wrote: “Arise the world conscience, Resist violence, Stop genocide, Happens over and over.”

The lyricist also calls for giving back the rights of Palestinians over their mother lands. “Give back our mother land, give back full rights. Give back our food, They are snatching away yonder. In the name of humanity, they are breaking laws,” he wrote.

In every lines of the song, feelings of pity and sorrow for Palestinians and hatred to the atrocities of Israel are seen. Every word of the song is like a protest itself.

The music and tune of the song has been composed by country’s celebrated music director and composer Ahmed Imtiaz Bulbul.  Two famous vocalists of the present generation Kishore Dash and Konal have delivered their voices in the song.

Complying with the theme of the song, a music video has been made using some photos and video clips of Israeli strikes on Palestinians. The song has drawn much attention and praise after it was uploaded in YouTube.
