Militants under close watch: Home boss

Parliament Correspondent: Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal said members of law enforcement agencies are working to root out militancy from the country.

Besides, jailed and detained militants and those freed on bail have been kept under close watch alongside adopting effective measures in preventing militant attacks, he said.

The minister came up with the remark while responding to a tabled question from ruling party lawmaker Moazzem Hossain Ratan in the Parliament on Monday.

“It has been possible to track down the dens of militants and their whereabouts within the shortest possible time by using modern information technology and intelligence surveillance. Arrests are being made after identifying them as a member of militant group. Tenants’ information is being collected for the sake of identifying those involved in the militant activities,” Kamal said.

Besides, different online apps such as BD Police Help Line, Hello CT and Report 2 Rab have been in service and mass awareness programme is on the move, he said.

He added that effective measures have been taken to thwart militant attacks. The success achieved in fighting militancy in the country has been recognized as the role model in the globe.
