'Gunfight' kills one in Mymensingh

Mymensingh Correspondent: A man was killed in a 'gunfight' with members of Detective Branch (DB) of police in Shahapara of Phulpur area of the district early Saturday.

The identity of the deceased could not be known immediately.

Officer-in-charge (OC) Ashikur Rahman of Mymensingh district DB said, acting on a tip-off, police conducted a drive in the area on Friday midnight.

Meanwhile, sensing the presence of law enforcers, robbers opened fire which triggered the gunfight, leaving an unidentified robber bullet injured.

Later, he was rushed to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital where he died under treatment.
