Nirmalendu Goon to return home within one week

Staff Correspondent: Veteran poet Nirmalendu Goon will be able to return home within a week as a bypass surgery on him has been conducted successfully.

Doctor Boren Chakraborty, who is leading a medical board for the poet, said this on Tuesday morning.

Earlier on Monday evening, poet’s daughter Mrittika Goon wrote on her facebook that her father had regained his sense after having a successful bypass surgery at the Labaid Cardiac Hospital.

The medical board for veteran poet had decided to conduct a bypass surgery on his body following his physical illness.

Nirmalendu Goon was admitted to Labaid Cardiac Hospital on Saturday noon after he had complained of a chest pain.

Later, he was taken to ICU (Incentive Care Unit) as his health condition was deteriorated.
