No extra fares from passengers in Eid: Assure Launch owners

Secretariat Correspondent: Launch owners in the country on Sunday assured that they would not take extra charge from the passengers during their travel in the upcoming occasion of Eid-Ul-Fitr across the country.

Shipping Minister Shahjahan Khan made this disclosure while briefing reporters after a meeting in this regard at the secretariat in the capital, this noon.

“We discussed in the meeting especially regarding the launch’s safety during people’s home going and coming on the occasion of Eid, one of the biggest festival of Muslims, in all over the world,” the minister added.

“Any Launch cannot be crossed the load levels while magistrates will be appointed to look into the matter,” Shipping Minister told newsmen.

The Minister also said, for the sake of the security of the passengers during their travel, there will be kept life jackets in the Launches.

These measures would ensure the public safety while the Launch incidents would be reduced in the country, said Shahjahan, after the meeting.
