Desk Report: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has directed Coast Guard to work against militancy under their jurisdiction alongside other law enforcement agencies.
She said, "The Coast Guard has become a symbol of confidence and trust in coastal area. The agency is working successfully in preventing different crimes including human trafficking and smuggling."
The premier said this after commissioning two ships for Bangladesh Coast Guard named 'CGS Syed Nazrul' and 'CGS Tajuddin' at the Coast Guard Berth in Patenga in Chittagong on Thursday.
"Bangladesh is not a militant State and we've adopted a zero 'tolerance policy' to curb militancy from the domain of Bangladesh. So, the Coast Guard alongside other law enforcement agencies will have to resist militancy," she added.
