PM to be accorded mass reception tomorrow

Staff Correspondent: The ruling Awami League President and the country`s Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is set to be accorded a mass reception on May 29 (tomorrow).

She will be given mass reception at Suhrawardy Udyan here in the capital at 2.30 pm on the day.

A 202-member Nagrik Committee will accord her for the passage of Land Boundary Agreement (LBA) bill in Indian parliament and for the victory in recently held three city corporations.

Headed by the noted poet Syed Shamsul Haque, the 202-member was formed while Awami League Presidium Member Mohammad Nasim was selected as the member secretary of the committee.

Earlier on Wednesday, the Awami League leaders have ordered the party leaders and activists not to bring banners and festoons at the reception venue on the occasion of the day.

"No slogans will also be allowed without naming Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in the programme," the AL leaders also urged the partymen.

The party leaders made the call while speaking at a discussion meeting at the party headquarters in the capital on Wednesday.
