PM visits Magura today

Magura Correspondent: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will visit Magura on Tuesday.

She will pay the visit to Magura to inaugurate and lay the foundation stones of 28 development projects aimed at ensuring further socioeconomic development of the district.

The premier will address a mammoth public rally to be organised by district Awami League at the Freedom Fighter Asaduzzaman Stadium in the town in the afternoon.

Meanwhile, a festive mood is prevailing in the district following the visit of the AL President Sheikh Hasina.

To welcome the Prime Minister, the town has been decorated with a huge number of archways, billboards and large size portraits of Bangabandhu and Sheikh Hasina. Colourful banners and festoons projecting the successes of the government have been hanged at different buildings and spots.

Before addressing the rally, the Prime Minister will inaugurate 19 projects and lay the foundation stones of nine development schemes from the stadium unveiling the digital plaques.

Magura District Police Super Md Munibur Rahman told reporters that they have taken all-out preparation to make the PM’s visit a success.

A three-tier security arrangement has been made ahead of the visit of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to the southern district, he added.

District unit AL president Tanjel Hossain Khan said, "We are eagerly waiting to welcome our beloved leader who is coming here after nine years."

This would be Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's first visit to Magura in nine years, sources said, adding that she last visited the southern district in 2008 to join election campaign.
