Passer-by run over, killed in C'nawabganj

A passer-by was killed as a truck ran over him while he was crossing road in Kanchat Rajbari of Chapainawabganj district early Tuesday.

The accident took place at Abbas bazar area on Kanchat-Chowdala road of the district around 7:00am.

The deceased was identified as Md Wasim Ali, 49, son of late Sajjad Ali of Shibnarayanpur village of the district.

Confirming the matter, Shamsul Alam, officer-in-charge (OC) of Shibganj Police Station, said on information, police rushed to the spot and brought the body to the thana after it was recovered.

Locals seized the killer truck but driver of the truck and his helper managed to flee the spot, he said.
