Police officer killed in city gunfight

Staff Correspondent: An Inspector of Detective Branch of police, Jahangir alias Jalal Uddin, has been killed in a gunfight with a group of terrorists in the city.
The gunfight took place on Monday midnight during an arms recovery operation in the city’s Madhya Pirerbagh area of Mirpur.
The injured DB inspector was admitted to Square Hospitals where he died around 2.00am.
Dhaka Metropolitan Police Commissioner Asaduzzaman Mia said police conducted the raid around 10:30pm following a tip-off that armed suspects were holed up there.
He said the suspects fired at police and Inspector Jalal Uddin received bullet injury at his head.
