RAB drive on in Khulna to rescue Farhad Mazhar

Staff Correspondent, Khulna: After being able to trace the whereabouts of noted columnist and writer Farhad Mazhar who went missing since early Monday morning, Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) is carrying out an operation to rescue him in Shibbari area of Khulna.

After tracking the mobile of 'missing' Farhad Mazhar, we came to know that Farhad had been kept at approach road area under a tower in the Shibbari area, RAB claimed.

Khandaker Rafiqul Islam, commanding officer of RAB-6 in Khulna, confirmed the news to risingbd.com.

A team of RAB has begun an operation to recover him as per the location. But the whereabouts of Farhad Mazhar is still not clear, he said.

Earlier, his family members alleged that some quarters had abducted the writer and demanded TK 35 lakh as ransom from him.

Farhad Mazhar went missing since he left home at Shyamali in the capital sometimes after 4:30am on Monday.
