Rifat murder: Two accused remanded

Barguna Correspondent: A Barguna cout placed Rabbi Akon to a seven-day remand in the sensational Rifat Sharif murder case on Thursday.

The court also placed Saimun to a three-day fresh remand in the case.

Senior Judicial Magistrate Court in Barguna passed the order on Friday afternoon.

Humayun Kabir, Investigation Officer (IO) of the case, also Inspector (Investigation) of Barguna Sadar Police Station, confirmed the news.

Police arrested 14 accused in the case so far. Of them, seven gave confessional statement to the court. Others have been remanded for different terms.

On June 26, miscreants hacked Rifat Sharif to death in broad day night in front of Barguna Government College. The incident sparked outrage across the country.
