Schoolboy beaten to death in Satkhira

Satkhira Correspondent: A schoolboy died at Satkhira Sadar Hospital after he was allegedly beaten by a group of miscreants in the district town. 

The deceased was identified as Sakib Hossain, 16, a student of class ten of Satkhira Police Lines School.

Police said that Sakib Hossain and his two classmates went to Bakchara Madrasa to join Mahfil on Tuesday evening. They locked into an altercation with two local guys named Shanta and Abdul Kadir following a simple issue. But, some followers of Shanta and Kader attacked them with sticks around 11:30pm on Tuesday, leaving Shakib injured critically. Meanwhile, one of his two classmates succeeded to flee the scene. 

Later, locals rescued Shakib and his classmate and sent them to Satkhira Sadar Hospital where duty doctors declared Shakib dead.

Confirming the matter, Sadar police station Duty Officer ASI Hasan said injured Rashed provided some information. Investigation is underway in this regard.
