Sri Lanka win series at home in 44 months

Sports Desk: Sri Lanka beat Bangladesh by 7 wickets in the second ODI of three-match series at R.Premadasa Stadium, Colombo on Sunday.

With this, Lankans clinched the series 2-0 as they beat the Tigers in the previous match by 91 runs. And this is first ODI series win at home for SL in 44 months!

Bangladesh set a 239-run target for the hosts, thanks to Mushfiqur Rahim's brilliant innings of 98 runs.

In chase, Sri Lanka reached the target by losing three wickets only in 44.4 overs.

Bangladesh fell in trouble as Tigers lost top five wickets for just 88 runs in 24.3 overs.

But wicketkeeper batsman Mushiq (unbeaten) lifted the side to 238 runs in 50 overs. However, it’s a matter of regret that he missed century just for 2 runs.

He scored 98 runs off 110 balls which includes 6 fours and a six.

In the crucial moment of Bangladesh innings, Mushfiqur Rahim along with Mehidy Hasan Miraz took Bangladesh past 200.
