Supreme Court bar association polls underway

Staff Correspondent: The two-day polls of Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) began from Wednesday morning to elect new leaders of the association for 2018-2019.

The voting started around 10:00am in 45 polling booths at Shaheed Shafiur Rahman auditorium. The voting will continue till 5:00pm with one hour’s lunch and prayer break.

A total of 6,152 members of the association are casting their ballots.

33 candidates are vying for a total of 14 posts including the posts of president and general secretary.

Awami League leader and former SCBA president Advocate Yusuf Hossain Humayun (White Panel), BNP leader and incumbent SCBA President Advocate Zainul Abedin (Blue Panel) are contesting for the post of the president.
