Sushant Singh Rajput's death: Autopsy report out

A day after Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput was found hanging at his Mumbai house, the Mumbai Police have recorded statements of five individuals in connection with the case.

The statement of the 'Kedarnath' actor’s Juhu-based doctor has not been recorded as yet.

The Mumbai Police have reportedly ruled out any foul play as the post-mortem report given by doctors states asphyxia due to hanging as the cause of death.

The post-mortem of the versatile actor was conducted at Dr RN Cooper Municipal General Hospital by a team of three doctors. Notably, no suicide note has been recovered from Rajput's residence.

Reports suggesting that the ‘Kai Po Che’ actor had called a Bollywood actress before committing suicide have reportedly found to be untrue. So far, no connection has been found between Sushant Singh Rajput’s death and suicide of his former manager Disha Salian.

Meanwhile, statements of Rajput’s cook, house helps, art designer Siddharth Pithani and sister have been recorded. Notably, Sushant Singh Rajput used to share his sixth-floor residence in Mont Blanc Apartments on Carter Road in Bandra with Siddharth Pithani.

In her brief statement, his sister, Mitu Singh, told the Mumbai Police that financial issues could not be the reason for his death. After Sushant's funeral, which is to be held today, the statements of his other family members and friends will be recorded.

In the meantime, Sushant Singh Rajput's brother-in-law OP Singh, who is the Additional Director General of Police and posted as Special Officer in the Haryana Chief Minister's Office, has reportedly suspected some foul play. Singh has sought a thorough investigation into the incident that has left Bollywood industry and Sushant Singh Rajput's fans shocked.

Scores of actors including Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone, Anupam Kher, Alia Bhatt and many others took to social media to share their grief and sorrow over the untimely demise of the young actor.
