Top drug trader killed in Ctg gunfight

Staff Correspondent, Chattogram: A top drug leader Shukkur Ali, 45, has been killed in a gunfight with Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) in Dobar area of Bostami thana in Chattogram early Tuesday.

The gunfight took place around 2:00am in the area. Meanwhile, RAB seized 10,000 Yaba pills from the spot.

Chattogram RAB-7 Assistant Director (media) Mimtanur Rahman told risingbd.com that acting on tip-off, a team of RAB raided the area. But, sensing the presence of RAB personnel, miscreants opened fire. In reply, RAB also opened fire which triggered the gun-battle. Later, the law enforcers found Shukkur Ali in critical condition and sent him to Chattogram Medical College Hospital where he died under treatment.

A one-shooter gun, 10,000 pieces of Yaba pills and huge amount of cannabis were seized from the spot.
