Trains running on schedule

Staff Correspondent: The special trains for Eid have started running on schedule from Kamalapur station of the capital city, making the journey hassle-free for thousands of homebound holidaymakers.

Sitangshu Chakrabarti, manager of Kamalapur Railway Station, said all trains are leaving Kamalapur as per schedule and heading towards their respective destinations on Thursday.

Steps have been taken to ensure hassle free journey for homebound people, he added.

The concerned authority said Eid vacation will start from tomorrow (Friday). So, there is a possibility of passenger pressure at train, bus and other stations from this noon.

A Chittagong-bound passenger named Didarul Alam said, "We collected today's train tickets after frantic efforts. Now we are going to our native village with family. However, there is no jam on train schedule."

Another passenger named Soikot said, "I though there will be a huge crowd in train station. But, the environment seems normal now. Hoping the journey will be hassle free."

Earlier, special train service on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr, one of the largest festivals of Muslims, started yesterday morning. At least 66 trains are scheduled to leave Kamalapur Railway Station every day. On the first day, 14 trains left the station in time while the rest failed to maintain the schedule.
