‘Transfer teachers serving in Dhaka schools for over 3yrs’

Staff Correspondent: Chief Justice Syed Mahmud Hossain on Sunday asked the government to transfer secondary school teachers who had been teaching in a school of the capital Dhaka for more than three years.

The chief justice came up with the comment while responding to a statement of Attorney General Mahbubey Alam made during a hearing in a case concerning the transfer of teachers of several secondary schools in Dhaka.

At one stage of the hearing, Attorney General Mahbubey Alam told the court that many teachers had been teaching in secondary schools of Dhaka for 10-12 years and many of them are doing coaching business.

In reply, the chief justice asked, “Why is it happening”? It was supposed to transfer the teachers after three years. The ministry concerned is responsible for that.
