Two drug peddlers killed in Comilla gunfight

Comilla Correspondent: Two suspected drug peddlers were killed in separate gunfights with police in Chauddagram and Sadar Dakshin upazilas of the district early Thursday.

The deceased were identified as Babul Mia alias Lomba Babul, son of late Hafez Ahmed, hailed from Boidderkhil village and Razib, son of Shah Alam, hailed from Chagini village area of Kotbari in Dakshin upazila of the district.

Chauddagram Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Abu Faisal said that on information, police conducted a drive in the area around 1:00am Thursday. Meanwhile, drug traders opened fire aiming police which triggered the gunfight, leaving Babul dead on the spot.

Babul was wanted in six cases including five drug cases, OC added.

On the other hand, another drug trader Razib was killed in a gunfight in Goal Mathan area of Sadar Dakshin upazila around 3:00am.

Sadar Dakshin police station SI Sahidul Islam said 50 bottles of phensidyl, 40 kilogram cannabis and a local made firearm were recovered from Razib.
