Walton brings country-made first smartphone in month of victory

Hasan Mahamud: Ahead of December, the month of victory, country's leading brand Walton is set to release its first smartphone made in the country in the tech market, adding a revolutionary change to the telecom and technology sector of Bangladesh.

'Walton Primo E8I' model supporting 3G network is going to get the status of first smartphone made in the country under the flag of Walton, one of the leading electronics, electrical, automobile and telecommunication products manufacturing and marketing company in the country.



The Walton Primo E8I model can have a 5 megapixel rear camera with LED flash and 2 megapixel front camera for photos. As a result, the camera of the smartphone is expected to have 720 pixel video recording facility.

The phone will have 454 × 480 resolutions of 4.5 inch FWVGA display. The smartphone is powered by 8 GB ROM, 512 MB RAM and 1.2 GHz quad core processor. The price of the mobile has been kept at only Tk 3,500.



Senior Operative Director of Walton Group and Walton Mobile division Chief SM Rezwan Alam Shiplu told risingbd.com that Walton believes in the theme of 'Made in Bangladesh' from the beginning. Retaining this belief, the local brand first set up smartphone production factory in the country.

In the meantime, we have been able to produce smartphones successfully. We will be able to release the smartphone made in the country for the first time in the tech market in the month of victory, he said.
