Walton international conference kicks off

Economic Correspondent: A four-day conference kicked off on Saturday morning at Walton headquarters in Chandra of Gazipur which is the country’s largest gathering of businessmen of electronic products.

Organized by Walton, the distributors meet is being attended by nearly six thousand local and foreign businessmen.

The conference will be held from 21 to 24 April where area managers, heads of service centers, 887 distributors along with 4,063 dealers and sub-dealers of Walton are taking part. Besides, Walton distributors of various foreign countries are also joining the conference making it an international gathering.

Businessmen who attend the conference will visit different production units of Walton factory. They will also discuss and highlight various aspects of modern business of electronic products.

Terming it the country’s largest and longest conference, Mohammad Rayhan, Monitoring Head of Walton Distributor Network, said the four-day- long gathering is being organized with the slogan of ‘Let’s go to Walton’. The purpose of such a big conference is to strengthen Walton's network from grassroots to international level, he added.

He said, 1,367 dealers and sub-dealers of Walton’s Dhaka region are taking part in the opening day of the conference on Saturday followed by 1,393 dealers and sub-dealers of Dhaka’s surrounding region on second day.

Moreover, 1,280 dealers and sub-dealers of other areas of the country will attend the conference of day 3 on Monday while 887 distributors of Walton in 20 areas of the country will participate in the fourth day of the conference.

Uday Hakim, Deputy Executive Director of Walton, said: The modes of business of technology products are changing very quickly. Walton is preparing itself to lead the change. With this conference, Walton will step forward to face global challenges as well as becoming one of the top brands in the world.

Meanwhile, another conference will be held at the same venue on April 25 which will be attended by nearly one thousand people including 600 distributors along with senior officials of Marcel, another sister concern of Walton Group.

The programs of each day of the conference will end with a pleasant cultural function.
