Walton releases Ionizer, Inverter, Smart ACs for the summer

Economic Reporter: The country’s electronics giant ‘Walton’ has launched some unique featured air-conditioners in the local market like ionizer, inverter and smart ACs.

The local brand released these latest versions so that people could get rid of the sweltering summer heat through getting cool air from power efficient and hygienic air-conditioners.

Engineer Md. Ishaque Rony, chief operating officer of Walton AC, said, this year Walton is manufacturing and marketing its latest IoT (Internet of Things) based smart air-conditioners with power efficient inverter technology’s compressor in the local market.

He said that users of the Walton ‘Smart AC’ could monitor the power consumption units, daily or monthly electricity bill of it, compressors condition like overload or normal, power connection situation like on or off, and high or low voltage supply to it, in his/her mobile phone from any corner of the world.

The Walton brand AC with ionizer technology will ensure pure and healthy air across the room through filtering dusts, smoke, bacteria and odor from room air with a device named Ionizer, he said adding, the Ionizer device in Walton AC will generate negative ion to filter dusts, smoke, bacteria and odor from room air and ensure pure and healthy air across the air. Thus, he termed the new technology as ‘Lung Doctor.’

Rony also noted that Walton ACs with inverter technology’s compressor would consume 50 percent lesser electricity than the general technology’s ACs.

In Bangladesh, around 3 lakh units of air-conditioners are sold out annually, the Walton officials said adding, the demands form AC abruptly increase during  the summer.



Thus, to meet the demands smoothly, Walton has already undertook massive initiatives like increase of production and stockpile, production of latest technologies air conditioners, they said.

Walton authorities said that a group of highly meritorious, experienced and skilled engineers of Research and Development Department of Walton AC are manufacturing international standard air-conditioners with perfect BTU (British Thermal Unit). They added the world’s latest technologies and features to Walton ACs like IoT based Smart AC, Inverter and Ionizer technologies ACs. Walton for the first time in Bangladesh applied ‘Golden Fin’ technologies to Walton ACs. The Walton air-conditioners have been released in the local market just after getting testing certificate from the Bangladesh Accreditation Board authorized international standard NUSDAT-UTS testing lab.

Now, Walton is manufacturing and marketing 18,000 BTU’s IoT and inverter technology’s Smart AC at Tk 65,000 in the local market. In addition, people can buy Walton brand’s inverter air-conditioners of 18000 BTU at Tk 63,500. Prices of Walton brand 18000 BTU and 24000 BTU’s AC with ionizer technology are Tk 49,900 and Tk 56,900 respectively. In addition, Walton brand 17200 BTU and 12000 BTU’s AC are priced at Tk 43,900 and Tk 35,900 respectively.

Engineer Tapash Kumer Majumder, head of R&D (Research and Development) of Walton, said, they are applying new technology named ‘Anti-corrosive hydrophilic golden colour fin’ in their AC condenser unit whereas such technology is not available in other brands’ AC.

This feature will enhance durability and operative life of the AC’s heat exchanger, even at salty air environment, sunlight dust, wind or harsh conditions, he added.

Dwelling on the distinctive features of intelligent inverter refrigerators, he said, the inverter technology’s ACs are 50 percent power efficient than the general technology’s ACs.

The compressors with inverter technology never switches off even when the temperature stabilizes, but runs at a slower speed maintaining the temperature inside the room, he said adding, thus these compressors consume comparatively low electricity. And, life time of the intelligent inverter technology’s compressors is also very high.

Now, six-month replacement guaranty is offered on Walton ACs. Users are offered up to eight years guaranty on the compressor of Walton ACs and 36-month installment facility during purchase.
