Sport Correspondent: Walton Central Zone have set a 203-run target for BCB North Zone in the third and final round match of Bangladesh Cricket League (BCL) on Tuesday.

Winning toss at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur, Walton skipper Mosharraf Hossain chose to bat first on Sunday and scored 289 runs in the first innings with a century from Mahmudullah.

In reply, BCB scored 287 runs in the first innings. With a 2-run lead, Walton started batting in the second innings and added more 200 runs before getting all out in the third day on Tuesday.

Mehrab Hossain Jr. was unbeaten scoring 54 runs in the second innings while Shuvagata Hom (36), Mahmudullah (35) and Marshal Ayub (30) made noteworthy contributions.

BCB bowler Mahmudul Hasan bagged 4 wickets for 53 runs while Taijul Islam and Muktar Ali bagged 2 wickets each.

Chasing a 203-run target in the second innings, BCB lost 2 quick wickets for only 11 runs. They were trailed by 191 runs with 8 wickets remaining at the close of play on third day.


Walton Central Zone are in the lowest position of the 4-team First Class tournament with only 11 points from one defeat and a draw. BCB North Zone are above their opponent with 13 points from one defeat and a draw.
