Woman loses leg in Dhaka road accident

Staff Correspondent: A young woman has lost her right leg in a road accident in Chairman Bari area of capital's Banani.

The victim is identified as Rozi.

Confirming the matter, Banani Police Ptation Officer-in-Charge (OC) Farman Ali on Saturday told risingbd.com that a bus of BRTC ran over the right leg of the victim around 8:30pm on Friday, leaving her critically injured.

Witnesses said that Uttara-bound a double-decker bus of BRTC hit Rozi when she tried to cross road in the area. At one stage, the bus ran over the right leg. Rozi's right leg got severed from her body. Later, she was rushed to National Institute of Traumatology & Orthopaedic Rehabilitation.

The victim worked as a maid in a residence in Banani.
