Youth beaten to death in Satkhira

Satkhira Correspondent: A youth has been beaten to death by another youth centering a feud over paddy harvesting in the district’s Kalaroa upazila.

The incident took place on Thursday evening at Khordabatra village under the upazila’s Joynagar union.

The deceased was identified as Mehadi Hasan (24), son of Keramot Ali Gazi of the village.

According to sources, Zahid Hasan (26), son of Gaffar Gazi locked into an altercation over paddy harvesting, and one stage Zahid Hasan beat Mehadi Hasan indiscriminately with a stick, leaving Mehadi seriously injured.

He was taken to a village doctor, later he was taken to Kalaroa Upazila Health Complex where duty doctors declared him dead.
