Youth stabbed dead over ‘borrowed money’

Staff Correspondent, Chattogram: A youth was stabbed to death allegedly for releasing ‘borrowed money’ at Toktarpool of the city’s Baklia area on Monday night.

The deceased was identified as Jasim Uddin, 22, son of Khurshid Alam of the area.

Sub-Inspector (SI) Jahirul Haque of Chattogram Medical College and Hospital (CMCH) police outpost confirmed the news.

Police and locals said several unknown miscreants stabbed Jasim at Toktarpool around 10:45pm on Monday and fled the scene, leaving him seriously injured. Locals rushed him to CMCH where attending doctors declared him dead.

At one stage of altercation over borrowed money, miscreants stabbed Jasim, they said.

The body was sent to morgue for autopsy, according to police.
