Accused allegedly killed in police custody

Netrokona Correspondent: An accused was allegedly killed in police custody in Sarisha Police Station in Jamalpur on early Monday.

The deceased was identified as Abul Hasem, 39, resident of Sarishabari municipality area.

Family members of the deceased alleged that police brought Abul Hasem to Sarishabari Police Station after arresting him in Dhaka where he was tortured to death.

Billal Uddin, officer-in-charge (OC) of Sarishabari Police Station, said Abul Hasem was trying commit suicide in police custody. Sensing the matter, he was rushed to Sarishabari Upazila Health Complex where attending doctors declared him dead.
