Walton take lead on Shuvagata ton

Sport Desk: A dashing century from Shuvagata Hom Chowdhury led Walton Central Zone to take lead against Prime Bank South Zone in their third match of the fifth season of Bangladesh Cricket League (BCL), the country's franchise based first class cricket tournament.

The right-hand all-rounder smashed 100 runs facing 125 balls with 11 boundaries and an over boundary at Khan Shaheb Osman Ali Stadium, Fatullah on Sunday.

Central Zone batsman, Saif Hasan scored 49 runs while, Taiabur Parvez and Abdul Majid added 44 and 38 runs respectively.

Earlier, Walton Central Zone won the toss and chose to bowl first. And Prime Bank South Zone scored 260 runs in the first innings.

In reply, Walton Central Zone scored 299 runs taking 39 runs lead in day two.
