Khadiza to skip court today

Staff Correspondent, Sylhet:  Sylhet college girl Khadiza Begum Nargis will not appear before the court due to ongoing treatment.

She was scheduled to give her statement today (Thursday) in the case filed against suspended Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) leader Badrul Alam for stabbing her.

A total of 32 witnesses out of 37 have already given statement. Rest of the five witnesses including Khadiza Begum were called to give their statement.

Khadiza’s father Mashuk Mia confirmed the news to risingbd.com last night.

“Khadiza will not appear before the court on Thursday due to ongoing treatment she is receiving. A medical statement mentioning her physical condition has been sent to the court”, he said.

Khadiza is now undergoing treatment at Centre for the Rehabilitation of the Paralysed (CRP) in Savar. Every day she is to take therapy three times.

A court here last week started hearing a case filed against suspended Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) leader Badrul Alam for stabbing college girl Khadiza Begum on October 3.

Md Saifuzzaman, Chief Metropolitan Magistrate of Sylhet, started the hearing.

Earlier on November 29, the court indicted Badrul Alam, a suspended leader of BCL’s Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST) unit, in the case.

On November 15, Sylhet Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Umme Saraban Tahura accepted the charge sheet against Badrul in the case.
