Banks to remain shut on July 4

Staff Correspondent: All banks in the country will remain shut on July 4, the day after the observance of holy Shab-e-Qadr, Bangladesh Central Bank announced.
However, the banks will remain open on July 16 as the substitute of the working day.
Bangladesh Bank`s spokesperson Anwarul Islam made the disclosure on Sunday.
Besides, the branches of all banks in industrial areas will be open on July 2 and 3.
The decision came as Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, on last Wednesday, applying her executive power, announced July 4 as holiday for which government employees got a 9-day vacation for Eid-ul-Fitr. However, the govt employees have to work on July 16 as substitute for the day.
