Christian trader chopped in Pabna

Pabna Correspondent: Miscreants chopped a Christian businessman injured at Foiljana village of the district`s Chatmohor upazila on Sunday night.

The injured is identified as Ranjit Rozario, 30, son of George Rozario.

He was admitted to Pabna General Hospital in critical condition. He deals in fertilizers.

Pallabi Rozario, wife of Ranjit, said Badsha Mia, resident of Nengri village, had an illegal affairs with the wife of an emigrant of Foiljana village. Ranjit along with some other people caught them red-handed in an obnoxious state which was disposed through arbitration.

As a sequel to that Badsha Mia along with several people on Sunday night attacked on their house and shot Ranjit but it was erratic. Later, they chopped him and fled the scene as locals came forward to rescue him, she added.

Subrata Kumar Sarker, officer-in-charge (OC) of Chatmohor Police Station, confirmed the news.
