Cop electrocuted in Rangpur

Staff Correspondent: An Assistant Sub-inspector (ASI) was electrocuted in Police Training Center in Rangpur on Tuesday morning.

The deceased was identified as Monsur Ahammed, hailed from Mogolbacha village of Kurigram Sadar.

Town Sub-inspector (TSI) Kibria of Dhap Police Outpost said that the victim tried to cut a branch of jackfruit tree in training center on Tuesday around 8:30am. At one stage, he came in contact with a live electric wire which left him critically injured.

Later, he was sent to Rangpur Medical College Hospital where duty doctor declared him dead around 11:30am.
