Correspondent of Indian daily expresses regrets

Risingbd Desk: Reporter Kallol Bhattacharya of reputed Indian daily "The Hindu", expressed regrets over a false report titled "We are tracking two IS killers inside India, says Bangladesh".

The Home Ministry on Tuesday released a press release in this regard.

The press release read that the report made on the alleged killers of Japanese national Hoshio Kuni was published in the daily on November 25. The report with an ill motive quoted Bangladesh Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan as saying that two assassins of Kuni have fled to India.

Even though the reporter had talked to the minister by phone that does not match with what he had written in his report in anyway, the release read.

Bangladesh High Commissioner in New Delhi Syed Muazzem Ali summoned the reporter after publication of the report and raised strong protest over such a false report.

Bhattacharya has apologized for his false report and said he would be more alert in future in this regard.

Home ministry public relation officer (PRO) Sharif Mahmud Apu confirmed the matter by the press release.
