Dhaka-Ctg-Sylhet rail links snapped

Brahmanbaria Correspondent: Train communication of Chittagong with Dhaka and Sylhet has been suspended following derailment of a freight train in the district.

Three bogies of the freight train went off the track at Akhaura Junction around 11:00pm on Thursday.

Confirming the incident, Abdus Sattar, Officer-in-Charge of Akhaura Railway Police Station, said three bogies of the train went off the track snapping the rail links of Chittagong with Dhaka and Sylhet.

A rescue train from the Junction’s loco shed reached the spot and started work in a bid to restore the rail links, he added.
