EC has no backbone: BNP

Staff Correspondent: BNP Spokesman Asaduzzaman Ripon opined that the incumbent Election Commission (EC) is inactive and spineless.

The BNP spokesperson made the comment while addressing a press conference at the party`s Nayapaltan central office in the capital on Tuesday noon.

He said that BNP pointed out some observations and demands ahead of municipality election but, it’s a matter of sorrow that Election Commission did not take any steps in that regards.

Asaduzzaman Ripon also said, "We demanded to extend 15 days symbolically which may take one month more. What problem was there? Moreover, new 50 lakh voters would join in the election."

We demanded to stop mass detention but, yesterday (Monday) police detained Mayor of Nandail Municipality AFM Azizul Islam Pikuhe said.

BNP organizing secretary Fazlul Haque Milon, Assistant Office Secretary Abdul Latif Jony and others attended in the press conference.
