2 suspected militants held in Noakhali

Noakhali Correspondent: Two students have been arrested in the district for their alleged connection with militant activities.

A team of the Counter-Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) unit arrested them around 2.00am on Monday from Basurhat municipality area of Companyganj upazila.

The arrestees were identified as Abu Abdullah Ishtiaq (17), an examinee of secondary school certificate (SSC) examination and son of Sarwar Hossain Liton at Charkakra union, and  Amjadul Islam Rasel, a 7th semester student of Uttara University in the capital and son of Nasir Uddin at Basurhat municipality.

Kazi Fazle Rabbi, officer-in-charge of Companyganj Police Station, said a CTTC team of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) raided a house and arrested them.
