Flood snaps Jamalpur-Dewanganj train service

Staff Correspondent, Mymensingh: The train service on Jamalpur-Dewanganj has been suspended due to flooding and heavy rainfall in the district.
Jamalpur Railway Station master Jahurul Islam said that the train communication has remained snapped from Friday night.
Meanwhile, with the continuous rise of water level in the rivers for the last couple of days, overall flood situation in Jamalpur district deteriorated further.
Abdul Mannan of Bangladesh Water Development Board (BWDB) said the water level rose and the river flew 212 cm up danger mark in Bahadurabad point due to incessant rainfall and onrush of waters from the upstream.
A total of 335 schools of six upazilas have been declared close and road communications in many areas has been stopped.
The government has allocated 267 tonness of rice and Tk two lakh and 20 thousand for the flood affected people and distribution among the affected families are on, DC office sources said.
