Be alert on conspiracy against country: PM to Army

Staff Correspondent: Mentioning that a particular quarter is killing foreign nationals to tarnish the image of the country in abroad, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has called upon the members of armed forces to be alert on all kinds of conspiracy against the country.

The premier made the call while addressing a programme at city`s Mirpur Cantonment on Wednesday morning.

She said that all conspiracy to create unrest in the country will be foiled.

The premier affirmed that no one will be able to destabilise the country by carrying out such acts.

"Bangladesh has consolidated its position on the international stage in such a way that no one will be able to destabilise the country with such incidents," she said.

Referring to the recent killings of two foreign nationals, one Italian national in Dhaka and another Japanese citizen in Rangpur, Hasina said the Japanese national had converted to Islam, but he was killed. "We`ve already condemned the killing and taken steps for hunting down those involved in the incidents and then ensuring their punishment."
