Five killed over family feud in Mymensingh

Mymensingh Correspondent: At least five people were killed over a family feud in district’s Nandail on Friday night.

 

The incident happened at  Bashhati village under Chandipasha Union around 10.30pm. 

 

According to sources, Lal Mia (65) Billal Mistri are two brothers. Lal Mia, who is older, borrowed Tk 40,000 from their sister Koheli Begum. Lal Mia and his family members became angry to Koheli as she returned back her money. They also beat Koheli and her family members over the matter. Billal and his family members protested the matter that triggered into a clash.

 

At one stage at night, Lal Mia (65) and his associates with the native weapons discriminately attacked his brother and his family members. Billal Mistri (55) and his three sons Farid Mia (35), Pavel (15) and Himel (13) died on the spot.

 

Later, the dead boy of Jamal (30), son of Lal Mia, was recovered from near a pond.

 

Billal`s wife Banechha Begum (52) is also injured in the attack.


 
Police arrested a Khokon (30) in this connection.



Police suspects that Jamal killed his uncle and three cousins, but police does not ensure who have killed Jamal.


However, Koheli Begum said Jamal and his brother Kamal discriminately attacked Lal Mia and his family members.

Mymensingh Additional Police Supper Harunur Rashid confirmed the news.


Nandail Thana Officer-in-Charge (OC) Syed Abdullah visited the spot.
