Four of a family hacked in Laxmipur

Laxmipur Correspondent: A man stabbed his wife and three of his in-laws over a family feud at Abbas Ali Road area of Raipur municipality on Friday morning.

The injured are Mohiuddin (55), his wife Akfetur Nesa (45), daughters Mohima Akhter Swapna (25) and Sufta Jannat Poli (23).

According to sources, Nazmul Hossain, hailing from Bakerganj upazila of Barisal district, came to his in-laws’ house to take away his son and money from his wife Soma Akter who had been living there for long as their conjugal relationship was not going well.

At one stage, Nazmul hacked Swapna and three other with a sharp weapon, leaving them critically injured.

Hearing screams, local people came to the victim’s rescue and caught Nazmul and handed him over to police.

The injured were rushed to Noakhali General Hospital from where Mahiuddin, Buli Begum and Soma were shifted to Dhaka as their condition showed a deteriorating trend.
