The HC bench comprised of Justice Kamrul Islam Siddiqui and Razik Al Jalil issued the rule after hearing a writ petition filed by a Chuadanga college teacher and 44 others on Monday.

Advocate Mohammad Siddique Ullah Miah stood for the petitioner while Deputy Attorney General Mokhlesur Rahman represented the state in the court.

The HC bench gave the ministry four weeks to explain why the notification will not be illegal, petitioners’ lawyer Mohammad Siddique Ullah told risingbd.com.

Nine, including the education secretary, chairmen of Dhaka, Chittagong, Sylhet and Dinajpur education Boards, director general of Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education have been made the respondents, Siddique Ullah Mia said.
