Alert at Benapole to prevent Zika virus

Benapole Correspondent: High alerts have been issued at Benapole land port to prevent Zika virus so that no one can enter into Bangladesh from India with the virus.
Immigration police and health workers were seen to work in this regard.
They are conducting initial test with thermal scanner provided by health department. They have also increased surveillance in the area.
Three assistant health workers were seen to work in the Benapole check post. They included sub assistant community medical officer, assistant health inspector and NGO official.
Sub assistant community medical officer Jyotish Chandra Roy, also working at immigration Checkpost at Benapole, said, "Following a directive from the authority, medical team members have been working since last Wednesday on how Zika virus can be prevented. But no Zika virus affected patients are still found in the area. They are in high alert in this regard".
Benapole Check-post Immigration officer-in-charge (OC) Tariqul Islam said that medical team members will be informed when any suspected foreigners will enter into the country via Benapole.
