Gaibandha Correspondent: The SITE intelligence group in a tweet message claimed that the Islamic State in Iraq and Levant took the responsibility of killing of Hindu trader in Gobindaganj upazila of Gaibandha.
“Via its `Amaq Agency, #ISIS claimed killing a Hindu trader in Gobindaganj Upazila #Bangladesh,” reads the tweet of the US-based SITE Intelligence Group.
The tweet was posted at 6:12pm on Wednesday evening.
Earlier in the day, Debesh Chandra Pramanik, 68, owner of a shoe shop, was hacked to death allegedly at Sripatipur Bazar in the upazila of Gaibandha.
Gobindaganj police station officer-in-charge Mozammel Haq said Ananda Rani, wife of the deceased Debesh Chandra, filed a murder case against some unknown assailants in the incident.
Police held a suspect Nepen Chandra, 35, this connection connection, the OC added.
