40pc construction of Padma Bridge completed

Madaripur Correspondent: Minister for Road Transport and Bridges Obaidul Quader said around 40 percent of the construction works of the Padma Multipurpose Bridge has been completed.

The Minister made the disclosure while addressing an inaugural ceremony in Shibchar of Madaripur district on Sunday.

He said the eight kilometer link road of Shibchar-Kathalbari has been launched to reduce people’s suffering of southern part of the country.

The construction of whole Padma Bridge will be completed by 2018, he added.

Obaidul Quader also said that multiple developments will be taken place in this region centering Padma Bridge. An international standard airport, Olympic village, cantonment will be built.

Padma Bridge project director Shafiqul Islam, BM Mozammel Haque, Roksana MP, Madaripur deputy commissioner Kamal Uddin Biswas and others attended the programme.
