Mahfuza brings second gold at SAG

Sport Correspondent: Mahfuza Akter Shila has clinched the second gold medal for Bangladesh in the 12th South Asian Games in women’s 100-metre breast swimming.

Bangladesh won its last gold medal in swimming in the 2006 edition of the games.

She took one minute 17.86 seconds to finish the fastest in Guwahati, India on Sunday.

Earlier in the day, lifter Mabia Akhter Simanta bagged the first gold medal for Bangladesh in the ongoing South Asian Games in the women’s 63-kg weight category of weightlifting at the Bhogeshwari Phukanani Indoor Stadium.
